Leon Bolier - ‘NSFW’
Given his love for starting his acronym’s with N, S & Fs (see below newcomer!), we figured it has to mean: Not So Frequently… something. We were wrong... so wrong. The intriguing, mysterious Mr Bolier has, after months (alright A month) revealed that ‘NSFW’ actually means ‘Not Suitable For Work’. Standby for next month’s bulletin when he’ll explain (Lost’-like) what he means by that! Anyway, enough messing – ‘NSFW’ is out on the 27th of November, through Beatport and with its smoking-hot Push’s remix following on the 15th of December. You can get your previews tickets for both those floor-bullets here and, oooh, over there.

Flashforward: QievDance 2009 – Trance Edition
No doubt hoping to enjoy some of its famously warm, temperate December weather (35 degrees in the shade, Pina Coladas on-tap... or so we’ve told him!), Leon is only too delighted to be heading down Ukraine way next month! The International Expo is the venue, Kiev is the city and the shorts, sandals & sunnies have already been backpacked! Well, we’re sure the reception will at least be warm as he turns up to drop trance science at QievDance on the 5th of December! If you’re in the region turn up in your shorts and show your support!

Remix Boxing – The New Sport-Dance Craze
Remixing his way out of the red corner, he’s the 300lb heavyweight challenger from Southern Holland, and right away you can see he has the December title hopes in his eyes. The blows come flying in quick… A swift right hook with his remap of Push’s album title track ‘Global Age’. That’s seen his opponent straight onto the back foot and, oh my he’s floored him with a killer reworking of Breakfast’s ‘Air Guitar’! The count has started and the bell been rung – winner!
Keep an eye out next month when we introduce you to the hyper-competitive world of trance DJ weightlifting. Remix Boxing is sponsored by Spruntjuice™ – the new refreshing boysenberry-flavoured carbonated soft drink.

Streamlined: The Event
It’s now little more than a month away… We’re talking, of course about Streamlined – The Event, where Leon and his all-star trance alliance will send off 2009 at Club Poema in Utrecht with a big audio ‘gotcha!’ Aly & Fila, Marcus Schössow, W&W & Misja Helsloot will all be joining him for the knees-up on the 26th of December, which will be broadcast live on Afterhours FM.
Tickets are available now through the Solarize shop. Please note despite recent reports to the contrary (in other publications), those turning up in tinsel and/or santa outfits and brandishing mistletoe will NOT be refused admission. NSFAQ
In our regular L.B. news-mailer feature we want you to ask Leon a… N.S.F.A.Q.! The best 3 inquiries will get answered and each winner will take home some great LB prizes. Go outside-the-box, take Leon away from his comfort zone (wherever that might have been). If you pose an interesting query he’s never been asked before, you’re in with a GREAT shout of getting it answered! Send them over to: info@solarize-agency.com
N.S.F.A.Q. (Not So Frequently Asked Questions)
Sydney de Caluw: How do you think trance music is going to sound like in 2050?
LB Answers: I think the essence of it has always has been: music to bring you into a trance by atmospheric melodies and soundscapes. At the same time music that you can dance to. I think there always will be demand for music like this. Whether the producing techniques might change, even the pigeonholes people put the music in, there always will be music that I refer to as being trancey. The Dutch supersaw trance wave that emerged in 99 is only one small part of it. For me most tracks produced by, for example, Joris Voorn or Pig & Dan are very trancy as well. Atmospheric and hypnotizing. Though many people will say its techno.
Craig Lewis: Who do you think is the best musically and lyrically skilled producer in the world?
LB Answers: I don’t have an out-and-out favourite, though I very much admire Trentemoller’s work.
Mario Gersbach: Did you really drink that window-cleaner solution Marcus (Schossow) told me about?
LB Answers: Yes, he said it was chocolate milk.
Welcome To The BOLIER Room!
In The Bolier Room we go through Leon’s mind and clean out the other side. The subject matter: anything and everything apart from EDM (which we think is pretty well serviced by the rest of the mailer!). This month Leon is back in movie mode...
"One of the more obscure films by Tim Burton, neatly enough about a pretty obscure film maker, Ed Wood is often labelled as the worst movie director ever. When I first saw the movie (Johnny Depp plays the title character here) I thought the scenes they replayed and included in the movie were too bad to be true. I decided to go check for the original cuts on YouTube, and indeed they were just as cack as portrayed in this movie. If you’re up for a rather sad story with some dark humour, Burton’s flick might be a pick!"

‘This’… Is The Time!
Leon’s latest opus ‘This’ has slipped the lock on its promo cage and is out and about in clubland, bringing just the right amount of disorder on the dancefloor. Featuring the evocative, atypical vocals of the very lovely Ms. Floria Ambra, it’s a positive hurricane of sound that’s been burning down speaker-cables around the world. You can place this nugget in your mp3 collection for slightly less than it costs you to fill up at Starbucks in the morning via Beatport. now.
Gigs, sir… Thousands Of Them!
Ok, perhaps not thousands, but more than enough to keep Leon busy and some absolute corkers to boot! He’s back in the (former) USSR – Ukraine to be exact - rocking Club Forsage in downtown Kiev on Friday the 24th. Then it’s a hop, skip and a flight to the UK for Gatecrasher in Leeds on the 25th. Just twenty four hours later that striding colossus of middle European festivals, Tomorrowland throws open her tent-flaps. Leon will be going ‘b2b v. SVR’ (translation: back-to-back with Sied van Riel) on the VANDIT stage to round off what will no doubt be one big-ass weekend.
‘Streamlined 2009 - Buenos Aires’
'Streamlined' is bursting at its 160 minute limits with exclusive tracks, remixes, edits, anthems, vocals, instrumentals, collabs and kebabs. Well perhaps not the last one, but LB's first solo compilation has rolled like a freight train with a busted brake over the last six weeks. If you’ve not yet caught a hold of it, it’s not too late. Packing the new single ‘This’, the Menno de Jong team-up ‘Last Light Tonight’ and the new LB re-edit of ‘Beyrouth’, you can take ‘Streamlined’ to bed tonight (or in a couple of days if you buy the CD) through any of the following retailers: Bol, Amazon , 4DJsOnly , DanceTunes.com or Beatport.
Gigs, sir… Thousands Of Them! (Pt.2)
As July turns to August those big summer nights keep a-coming. On Thursday the 30th July Leon will be making his Egyptian debut at the (not unattractive sounding) Cuba Cubana Beach Club in Marina El Alamein. Then on the 31st its TranceWorld in Turkey at Tirmata Beach in Istanbul, and just before the sun-block runs dry it’s the Bee Free Festival in Slovakia where he’ll be headlining the trance stage. If you find yourself in any of those 3 hotspots over the weekend, Los Bolierios would love to see you… Preferably down the front and throwing some of your very best shapes.
Memoirs of La Bolier
”Last couple of weeks and weekends have been hectic, but massive fun! Check out the youtube video to have a bit of an insight in whatever I am doing in my life. Hope to see you around in Ukraine, the UK, Belgium, Egypt, Turkey or Slovakia the coming weeks! Expect some new club bangers by me in the near future as well'.”

Social networking! Where would the world be without it? Back in the flippin’ dark ages, that’s where! A place where 50kg video recorders roamed the land and phones without long curly cables attached were merely a crazy idea inside some Finnish’s bloke’s head. Anyway those days are gone... thank god! Now you can stay up-to-the-nanosecond date with all of Leon’s runnings through the marvellous 'info-vessels' below. Behold them here…

Ben Alonzo (Orlando, USA)
What's the best way to deal with jet lag?
LB: Stay up till kind of the same time you'd go to bed anyway when you’re back home, just a little bit earlier and wake up a little bit later the next day. If that doesn't help blame the jet!
Shelleh Lou (Leeds, UK)
Can I ask the same as I did in the interview you did with Sied?
LB: Yes!
Erkut Ates (Ankara, Turkey)
When I first heard your sound it was on ISOS 4 in 2006. Everything changed in the world but you always kept you awesome style. How could you do that?
LB: I don't know if my style changed or not, some people say it changed but I will always keep on producing tracks like ‘Beyond’ on ISOS4. Some people think I changed styles when I produce something different. Techy or proggy, or whatever - but I that’s not the case. From time to time tracks like that will be put out. It's just that I don't like to do the same stuff over and over again, that's why I will always look out for gems in other genres of music that can inspire me and influence my productions. Having said that, I don't know if you can say I'm 'protecting' my style :) I just produce what I like, and if others want to do that as well that's up to them of course! I am glad tho that many people seem to dig what I am doing, that's all you can hope for as an artist!
Ben, Shelleh and Arkut have all won a copy of Leon’s first artist album, 'Pictures'.
Welcome To The BOLIER Room!
In this new feature we go into, through and back out the other side of Leon’s mind. The subject matter: anything and everything apart from EDM (which we think is pretty well serviced by the rest of the mailer!)
It’s Bolier’s Blog and this month the subject is a song by Kate Havnevik, called ‘Unlike Me’.
“I found out about Kate thru a review Tim van Waard did of my album “Pictures” for www.trance.nu . In this review he mentioned Kate, referring to her when he was writing about the track “Longing For”, a singer-songwriter kinda track I wrote with Jady-Mayne on the vocals. When I read that I started searching for Kate and the first song I found on YouTube was ‘Unlike Me’. This song immediately grabbed my attention. For me it has a eerie atmosphere and gives the listener some kind of strange feeling of loneliness. The video clip provided strengthens that feeling as well, the combination of Kate’s voice, the great atmospheric composition underneath and the strange visuals made it a song that intrigued me straight away.”
Forthcoming Dates:
24-07-2009 Club Forsage – Kiev (Ukraine)
25-07-2009 Crasher “Feel the Burn” – Gatecrasher, Leeds (UK)
26-07-2009 ID&T Tomorrowland (VANDIT Stage) – De Schorre, Boom (Belgium)
30-07-2009 Cuba Cubana Beach, Marina El Alamein (Egypt)
31-07-2009 Tranceworld Turkey – Tirmata Beach, Istanbul (Turkey)
01-08-2009 Bee Free Festival – Festival Area, Horna Streda (Slovakia)

Summerus Festivas Bolius (Leon’s Summer Festivals)Leon’s summer schedule already plenty packed with some big, BIG gigs. Global Gathering Poland will be kicking things off at the festival end of things as Leon shoots over to Poznan (Poland’s capital of all things ‘party’) on the 6th of June. Meanwhile in July ID&T’s Tomorrowland will go off at Boom, near Antwerp, which we like to think has been selected as the venue purely because of its name.

Personal Word From Leon…'The last few months have been massive - with nearly no time to spend in the studio, but as we speak I already finished the remix for Aly & Fila which, I think has turned out great! A nice full-on uplifting vibe combined with deeper techy beats. At the moment I’m also working on a remix for Breakfast, which will have more of a summer-ish flow about it. I hope to see you around the globe this summer! I am definitely looking forward to it!
RemixingAnd on the fifth and sixth month in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Nine, Leon did unleash upon the land of trance a mighty remix triple. Why are we suddenly speaking all biblical? Well because the remixes in question are biblically large of course! First out the pot and ready to give the speakers a right roasting is Aly & Fila’s ‘Khepera’ on Offshore. Hot on its heels (and in remix partnership with Galen Behr) will be Marcus Schössöw’s ‘A New Beginning’ followed by his L.B. twist on Breakfast’s next Flashover release. Don’t say we starve you of music! Say anything, but please don’t say that…
New L.B. Music! Also already sitting proudly on the tracklist of ‘Streamlined’ is his collaboration with her vocal hotness, Ms. Floria Ambra. Reaching single status very shortly, the track (entitled simply ‘This’) will be coming correct with a rocking Precursor remap. The track is out in June and available through all the big digital download stores. Don’t Miss!
The Big News: Leon Bolier presents ‘Streamlined’!High-tailing it out of the Spinnin’ Records and coming on faster than a speeding bullet, get ready for Leon’s new compilation maneuver… ‘Streamlined’! - Subtitled ‘Buenos Aries 2009’ (inspired by his most memorable debut in the Argentine capital), it’ll soon be setting its sights on a prized position on your CD or digital download collections. ‘Streamlined’ by name and streamlined by nature, the album will contain a mass of exclusive tracks from some very heavyweight artists indeed - all hand-picked by Mr Bolier. In the mix there will be 3 new solo L.B. tracks as well as ‘Last Light Tonight’ - his team-up with Menno de Jong. The first disc will showcase Leon’s love of all things tech to trance, while disc two will shine the light on the tracks that Leon will be champing live throughout this summer’s club and festival gigs. ‘Streamlined’ will be online-d on the 17th of June and available from all good CD shops.
Newsmailer AprilTrance Energy Australia – The Aftermath!
The dust has just started to settle following Leon and Co’s breakneck trip around Australia slammin’ it on the country’s first Trance Energy tour. Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane were all feeling the heat… Quite literally in fact as the mercury topped out at 25c (or 77 degrees
Fahrenheit fans!) over the Easter weekend as the DJs block-rocked their way around the country.

Leon Bolier in the Mix – ‘Streamlined 2009 - Buenos Aires’
Yep, we know - last month’s intro of Leon’s new compilation CD was rather ‘teasing’ in terms of the information! We’ve got a far beefier 411 update for you now though. Entitled ‘Streamlined 2009 - Buenos Aires’ (commemorating his recent debut performance in Argentina) the CD is scheduled for release late May. It will play host to a wealth of new material, including (of course) new Bolier gear and will reproduce his diverse, in-club twist on trance. Coming through Spinnin’ we’ll have tracklist and release details for you next month.
Leon’s ASOT 400 Guestmix
Armin’s ASOT400 (three cities, three nights, no sleep!) kicked off on April 16th and was fittingly accompanied by 72 hours of very fine electronic dance broadcasting! Armin’s asked Leon to contribute a guest mix for the radio event and the ever-obliging fellow he is, he’s done just that. You can check it out the mix out on this

‘Thug’ & ‘Sofa Cure’, Leon’s latest club-thumpers are out, about and doing more than the required damage! ‘Thug’s already picked up considerable radio heat from Ferry on Corsten’s Countdown & Judge Jules on Radio 1, while out in the club-land its been getting a comparable hammering courtesy of Armin van Buuren, Sander van Doorn, John O’Callaghan, Gareth Emery & Bobina. ‘Wet Dream’ – Becomes Tiësto’s 538 Pick of the Week!
Slightly further down the release line it may well be, but Leon’s return match with Galen Behr has been catching some serious heat. Left exclusively in the capable hands of Tiësto and following a thorough road-test by the man, he made it his Pick of the Week on his 538 Club Life show last week. You can catch a glance at him socking ‘Wet Dream’ to a properly up-for-it Bucharest crowd here and we’ll have full release details in next month news-cast.

Looking back on 2008 / Yearmix downloadDear fans & friends,
2008 is nearly history, so it’s time for a short looking back story about this year. Again, this year has been great to me. Breaking into the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs of the world and releasing my first artist album ‘Pictures’ were great highlights for me! Ending on the 48th spot of the TranceAddict top 250 DJs was great too, as well as my track ‘Ocean Drive Boulevard’ ending up in the yearly A State of Trance top 20. Speaking about productions, I’ve released a bunch alongside my album this year. Ocean Drive Boulevard, I Finally Found (feat. Simon Binkenborn) and Lost Luggage (produced with Jonas Steur) ended up on daily rotation on the bigger Dutch radio stations like Radio 538 and Slam FM. Besides all releases got great support by my DJ colleagues in the top league of the game.
Gig wise I visited many countries this year, and had great times everywhere. The Arches, Glasgow, a club tour in Australia, 2 great parties in Mexico and Venezuela, one of the greatest crowds ever in Kiev, Ukraine during a b2b set with Sied van Riel, spending a weekend with Sied, Joop and Yasemin in Turkey, visiting Singapore, Russia and the UK in one week, playing Loveparade in Germany and Houseparade + Festival in Romania, visiting the Czech Republic with Galen Behr and the Signum boys to spend a great night together, going back to Lebanon and Norway, 2 countries I extremely enjoy visiting and playing at the infamous Monday Bar Cruise in Sweden just recently made my year, amongst all other great countries where I played gigs, like Greece, Hungary, Poland and Ireland! Not to forget my home country The Netherlands, where I had some terrific gigs this year, to name a few: the Intuition Summer Festival, the Luminosity @ The Beach party, Fabulous in De Brabanthallen, Den Bosch, the big Dance4Life gig with Sied, Joop and Tiësto, the Amsterdam Dance Event weekend with gigs at the Solarize Night and the Intuition night and one of the greatest nights for me on a personal level: my album release party @ Club Poema, Utrecht.
So I can say I’m definitely very happy with what happened to me in 2008. For the fun and support in this year I want to thank Sied van Riel, Joop, Galen Behr, Cliff Coenraad & Thomas Hagenbeek, Wardt&Willem (W&W), Jonas Steur, Orjan Nilsen, Mike Shiver, Menno de Jong, Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, Mike Foyle, Kimito Lopez, Sean Tyas, Simon Patterson, Agnelli & Nelson, Pascal&Ron (Signum), Freek & Johan (Fine Taste), Daniel Wanrooy, Aly&Fila, Marcus Schössöw, Carl B, Jezper(Airbase), Misja Helsloot, Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery, Sander van Doorn, Marcel Woods, Maria Georgiou, Jady-Mayne, Simon Binkenborn, Raz Nitzan, Denise Rivera, Piet & Benno (Rank1), Jan (4Strings), Jennifer Rene, Arnej, Norman Lenden, Cor Fijneman, Jochen Miller, Bas & Ram, Egon (MC Gunner), Robson (MC Da Silva), Michel & Rob @ Solarize, Stuart @ Most Wanted, Jorn,Robert, Eelko and all others @ Spinnin Records, Tim @ SPPR, Ruben & Sander @ Armada, Dick @ Be Yourself Music, Twan @ Flashover, Yasemin & Ferdy @ Y-Catch, Moow @ Riel Management, Dimitri @ Prime Time, Mark @ Blackhole, Job, Hendrik & Wilco @ Artefakt, my close family and friends (you know who you are!), all promoters taking care of me this year, everyone else I might have forgotten (sorry for that already!) and of course all fans that made 2008 a fantastic year for me!
Have a blast during the Christmas days, and have a sparkling 2009! I recorded 3.5 hours DJ mix for all of you, with a bunch of tracks I really liked this year – and hence played to death either during my gigs or in my radiosets…. Tracklist and link to be found below!
Love,
Leon Bolier

Album Launch reportHere’s a short looking-back story about my release party last Friday night.. In short: it was truly, truly amazing! I was at Club Poema around 11PM, and there was a big queue already, so I thought this night will be good for sure! When I entered the club, the party only became better by the hour. I had so much fun during the whole night… it was so cool to see that it was busy inside, that my friends and family were there, as well as many people from the music business, dj/producer colleagues and so many fans who made sure that the atmosphere was brilliant throughout the night!
The next day, when still were a bit tired (or wasted) and we were downstairs in our hotel, chatting a bit about the party with Joop, Sied and Orjan amongst others, those DJ’s told me that they enjoyed the night very much as well. Solarize Agency’s Michel was there as well, he was organising the event with me and he was completely satisfied too. Spinnin records’ A&R manager Jorn told me the same, Spinnin’ were totally happy!
That’s why I want to thank everyone who was there with this bulletin, everyone that gave me and other an unforgettable night! Especially I want to thank Michel @ Solarize, who worked on preparing the party with me for weeks, Jorn and all others @ Spinnin Records for the support they gave me throughout the years, and giving me total freedom creating my first artist album, Freek & Johan (Fine Taste), Joop, Sied, Orjan and Robson for their share in the party pleasure in front of and behind the decks, really great! I want to thank Lennart, Jelle and Dan as well, for making the live broadcast happen, great stuff! And of course, everyone who was there, and/or was tuned in to AH.fm to listen online…. Without you there was no party at all! Really, thanks from the bottom of my heart! A night not to be forgotten….

So be sure to check those tracks out! In the meantime, don’t forget to vote for Leon in this year’s DJ Mag Top 100 poll!

Album release/releaseparty update! At last, Leon Bolier’s debut artist album will be released. From September 29th on, this double CD ‘Pictures’ will be available in stores, and of course music lovers and critics are looking forward to the first artist album by the talented and versatile Leon Bolier. CD1 will mostly consist of fresh new solo productions, while CD2 will be filled with collabs with Sied van Riel, Galen Behr, Joop, Global Illumination, Cliff Coenraad, Jonas Steur and Daniel Wanrooy, accompanied by new and older solo productions. Of course one can expect the diversity that’s needed: from sweet moody trance to dance floor pounders and minimalistic work. The album is typical for the sound Leon Bolier stands for, difficult to be pigeonholed and surprising again and again.
To celebrate this, Leon will kick off an album world tour on Friday the 26th of September in Club Poema, Utrecht (the Netherlands). From 11 pm on the party will explode and for this special occasion Leon Bolier invited some artist-friends to pump up the party even more! At this release-event the artist album will be available before the official release date, for the early birds. Club Poema is known as an intimate location, and Solarize Agency will host the event. A new sound-system has been added to Club Poema’s gearlist: Funktion One!
As mentioned above, Leon Bolier invited some of his colleagues to celebrate the party with him. DJ Joop is the first name on the list that will receive a special party-hat on September 26th. The ever-smiling Frisian guy of course loves his parties and especially for his producing buddy Leon Bolier he loved to make room in his busy schedule. The 2nd artist on the list will be Sied van Riel. People that know their music are aware that Leon Bolier and Sied van Riel stand for a combination of quality music and humour. One week after his Gatecrasher debut, Sied will work the knobs in Club Poema. For the real progressive and house fans, we have a special dish: Fine Taste. This duo are receiving worldwide praise for their astonishing production work, and they’re becoming appreciated guests all over the world, including WMC Miami. Last but not least: Leon invited Norwegian trance giant Orjan Nilsen to join the guests in the Club Poema DJ Booth! With his massive hit ‘La Guitarra’, this Norwegian party animal made sure he was responsible for one of the summer hits for 2008. Orjan will play his subtile sound in Club Poema till sunrise!
Presale for this event already has started through Timoco. Only 9,99 euros are needed to get your entrance ticket in presale! But, there’s even more: Especially for this night, you will be able to buy a combi-ticket to visit the event and get a copy of the double CD ‘Pictures’ by Leon Bolier. The special combi-tickets will cost 17,50 euros. Doorsale tickets will be available for 15,00 euros and the CD will be available at the event as well, for a special discount price: 10,00 euros. Ofcourse Leon Bolier and Solarize Agency invites everyone for this special event!

June UpdateIt’s been a while since i gave an update about my productions, my gigs and all other stuff that’s going on. Since the last update I have been playing in Budapest, Hungary where I had a great time with Ivo & friends, at our very own Solarize Night in club Poema in Utrecht, the Netherlands which of course was a great party together with Michel & Rob and the DJs: Galen, Cliff, Wardt, Jonas and Martijn (Dazzle). During this night I did a back 2 back set with Cliff, and we banged it out! After that it was time to go to Kiev to play a back 2 back set with Sied van Riel at the International Exhibition Centre. We experienced one of the greatest crowds ever, cheering from the beginning till the end of our set! Really enjoyed ourselves over there! The day after I had a good time with my friends @ the Powerzone in Amsterdam, where I played a set as well. The next week I had to leave for Turkey, to stay there for the weekend and play two sets as well. I went there with Sied, Joop and Yasemin and we had a great and warm weekend! Next up was Singapore, to do a 3 hour set @ Ministry of Sound. I like playing long sets, so same goes for Singapore: time flies when you’re having fun! The place was crowded so I had a good night as well. During the flight back Holland had to play at the European Football Championships, against Italy, even tho I wasn’t too happy about missing out on the game, I was delighted to hear Holland won 3-0 when I switched on my phone again in Frankfurt. Two days later it was time to visit Moscow again, and do a set @ the Arena Drive Festival. Nice production over there, and had good times with all the DJs. Cliff accompanied me in Russia, and the next day the both of us had to go to Leeds, UK to visit the Digital Society night once again! Good times with our UK friends over there! The last two gigs were Holland gigs: one near my living place (20 minutes drive from where I live, the most close by gig I had in a long time!), was nice to play for many people I know for a long time already. After the gig I was just in time to see Holland being beaten by Russia (totally deserved but still a shame). Last weekend I played at a Create events party in club Speakers, Delft. Really liked the atmosphere over there as well!
In the mean time I have been working on my artist album which basically has been finished production-wise. I have been testing various productions in my sets all over the world, and the reactions were huge already I must say! The album will be released on monday September 29th. On Friday September 26th I will be celebrating this in Club Poema, Utrecht, and of course everyone is invited! Presale has started already, tickets for the night will be 9,99 Euros or 17,50 Euros (including the album), and 15,00 Euros at the door. In that case you will be able to pick up an album at the club for a special discount price: 10,00 Euros! For online booking go to https://dazzling-music.timoco.eu/shop/step/inventory.do

2008Hi all,
2008 just began, and in a great way I can say :)
To start off I played a gig in Timisoara, Romania (together with Sied van Riel, Galen Behr, Re:Locate, Yves deRuyter, Cliff Coenraad, MC Gunner and booking agent Michel). I had the honor to kick off 2008 at 00.00 \o/ I really enjoyed myself during those few days, and had a great time playing in front of the Romanian crowd! I hope to be back in Romania this year anyway!
Production wise: I started working on an artist album and I hope it can be released this year. It will need a lot of work tho so we will see what the future brings! At the same time Spinnin' records started to promote my track 'Ocean Drive Boulevard', and it received some nice support already. Tiësto, Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten already are supporting it, amongst others. Remixes to be expected by Cliff Coenraad vs. Thomas Hagenbeek, Joop and Marcus Schössow. Even tho I started producing an album, I'll still be working on singles as well - as you might expect: melodic tracks, techy tracks and more proggy or minimal influenced tracks for my different monikers.
Coming weeks I expect to be playing in Greece, Scotland, Poland, Ireland, Australia, Venezuela, Mexico and ofcourse my home country The Netherlands. So who knows - maybe I will see you somewhere around the globe!
In the meantime I finished a DJ mix compilation, which will be released on Cloud 9 Music January 25th. It is going to be a double CD, and I will be mixing CD1. CD2 will be mixed by Swedish DJ/Producer Mike Shiver!
My tracklist:
1 Moonbeam - I Love Mornings
2 Glenn Morrison - Circles
3 Mathias Schwarzwald - Fluffy Clouds
4 Lange - Songless (Club Mix)
5 Smartminds - On Speaking Terms
6 Duderstadt feat. Kirsty Hawkshaw - Beautitude (Marcus Schössow Remix)
7 Steur & Bolier - The Night Is Young
8 Wardt - Extensions
9 Jose Amnesia feat. Jennifer Rene - Invincible (Sied van Riel Remix )
10 Breakfast - Dancing In The Moonlight
11 Leon Bolier feat. Global Illumination - Portraits of Spain
12 Bolier & Van Riel - Malibeer
13 Sied van Riel - What You Want
14 Leon Bolier - Ocean Drive Boulevard
15 Joop - Prominent (Leon Bolier Remix)
16 Bart Claessen - First Light
So, lots of things going on! Hope to see you around the globe somewhere this year!
Leon Bolier
Happy holidays!2007 has passed by very fast, and I wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Gig-wise and producing-wise 2007 has been another good year! I’ve travelled the world, been to beautiful South Africa, got some really nice big gigs in Poland, went to the UK many times to be playing in various places with the crazy UK crowd in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, went north to play in Norway, Sweden and Russia, been to Turkey a couple of times to play and meet up even in Cyprus, spent a great weekend in Hungary, played at the Loveparade in Germany, visited Macedonia for a gig, played at the fabulous Belgian Illusion club and of course played in my home country The Netherlands, with the highlights being playing live at the mainstage of Trance Energy and rocking a great crowd at the Intuition event in the Escape, Amsterdam during the Amsterdam Dance Event. As a Grande Finale I just returned from Beirut, Lebanon where I had one of the most terrific times of the year. I’m still not completely recovered from this nice experience! Thus I want to thank all the people that attended the gigs this weekend and the people that took very good care of me during the gig and the time I spent with you guys in Beirut! The same goes for all promoters, fans and friends all over the world who took real good care of me! You know who you are, and without you this year couldn’t have been what it ended up to be!
In the studio things went really well too, I released tracks on the labels that (for me) represent the best in electronic dance music. I had 2 tracks with massive support on the Dutch national radio stations (Joop – The Future which me and Joop produced together, and Summernight Confessions), and all other tracks got massive support by the usual suspects.
It’s for a reason that I’m releasing my tracks on those labels, cause I like working with them business wise as well as on a personal level. Last year I have been or planning to be in the studio with some of the best producers out there (for me), who have become close friends over the last couple of years: Joop, Cliff Coenraad, Sied van Riel, Jonas Steur, Menno de Jong and Freek Geuze. Thanks for all this both to the labels and the producers I mentioned, as well as a big shoutout to all other DJs and producers that became close friends and/or have supported me over the past few years.
Not to forget the most important thing: a big, big, big thanks you all to all fans around the globe that I met during gigs, that messaged me through Internet and that support my music! Again, merry Christmas and a happy, happy 2008!
Love,
Leon
Production update! In the past few months I've been in the studio with Jonas Steur and Sied van Riel to produce some tracks together. With Jonas I made a balearic sounding dancefloor track called 'The Night is Young', to be released on Blackhole Recordings. Together with Sied I made two dancefloor stompers that will be released under the well thought out names 'With the Flame in the Pipe' and 'Malibeer'. To be released on Spinnin' records.
Besides I worked on a few remixes: I remixed Evil Robot - Just Go, Sied van Riel - Sigh and Carlos - Alanda for Spinnin' records, and Kenneth Thomas - Soleil Noir for Curvve. I also worked on the Joop ep 'On top of things/ Prominent' together with mr. Joop himself, you can find the tracks in your record/downloadstores now! Same goes for my track Further Instructions on Oxygen/Spinnin', featuring a Supersub remix done by the guys behing Fine Taste.
Rankings, rankings..I'm very happy and thankful about receiving the news about the results of the yearly DJ Mag poll: I entered the list at the 142nd spot. Besides I went up in the yearly Tranceaddict.com top 250 DJ list, and ended up at the 57th place this year. Last but not least: on the Trance.nu producers poll for 2007 I ended up at the 9th place. Needless to say that I can't complain at all! I want to say thanks to all clubbers, listeners and fans that voted for me in those various polls!
Slam FMWednesday September 26th I will be having an interview at the Dutch Slam FM radio station studio. Be sure to tune in: 20.30 GMT+1, www.slamfm.nl
Some news..First of all, sorry for the lack of updates lately. This is because at the moment people are working on a brand new website for me. But at the moment there are some things I want to share with you:
My new track Summernight Confessions was released on CD Single and legal download last week. Available at dance-tunes.com, beatport.com and other download portals. The track has been played already on Dutch radio 538, and got enough votes by the audience to be played even more!
Besides, as you might know, the DJ Mag spamming campaign started again, and I can't help to have to jump the bandwagon.. So please be so kind to go to http://www.djmag.com/index.php?op=top_100&story=home and vote for me :)
Some other suggestions are:

Happy 2007!
Trance Energy Anthem & More! You might know I've been in the studio a lot last few months, on my own and together with other djs/producers. To start off, I did a track with DJ Astrid which will come with 2 mixes, a trance monster and a more tech flavoured mix: Leon Bolier vs Astrid - Crazy People. To be expected April next year!
Next to this I've done some tracks with DJ Joop; 2 of them got signed to Spinnin Records: Lyra and Canis Major. To be expected next year, including Leon Bolier and Joop mixes.
Besides, we produced the new Joop track for Be Yourself Music: Joop - The Future (incl. Leon Bolier mix). This track has been announced as the official Trance Energy 2007 anthem! I'm very happy to be part of this ofcourse :)
As you might have noticed, some tracks and remixes hit the stores lately: Bolier & Coenraad - The Mighty Ducks / Mohawk, Leon Bolier pres. Surpresa - Poseidon/Bonaire, Carlos - The Silmarillia 2007 (Leon Bolier Remix), Assure - Enemy Territory (Leon Bolier Remix), Gott & Gordon - Midnight (Leon Bolier Remix) and last but not least Subsphere - First Light on Markus Schulz' Coldharbour Selections 12.
Those releases received massive support from e.g. Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Laurent Garnier, John Digweed, Above&Beyond, Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Marco V and many, many more!
Poseidon / Bonaire in stores!Check out your recordstores and/or your digital download shops for these 2 melodic monsters :)
No Need To Come Back out nowThe track I made with Elsa Hill's vocals can be found in your recordstores now! It comes with the original mix and a Surpresa clubmix which is more uptempo.

Also proud to announce: my collab with Cliff Coenraad, Bolier & Coenraad - The Mighty Ducks, a weird and powerfull tech track, has been signed to Menno de Jong's Intuition recordings. Release date to be announced.
Besides, I co-produced the new Joop track, to be released on Be Yourself Music: Joop - The Future. This record will be released with a Leon Bolier remix on the flip.
Last but not least: I remixed 'Carlos - The Silmarillia', this remix will be released on Spinnin' records.
More charts news & other stuffAs you might have noticed: the collab I did with Menno de Jong reached the 59th position in the Dutch Mega Top 100, really cool for an underground trance track nowadays. Moreover; Leon Bolier pres. Precursor - The Journey / The Navigator reached 1st position last week in the Dutch IDP Dance Charts.
Records in charts and in storesAs you might know, my collab with Menno de Jong (Menno de Jong & Leon Bolier pres. Solar Express - Magma / Momentum) has been released for a few weeks now. The record climbed the Dutch IDP Clubcharts, reaching a #1 position this week already. Besides you can find the record now at #21 in the Dutch Dance Trends top 30.
Also watch out for the new Leon Bolier pres. Precursor EP: The Journey / The Navigator! The A-side is a powerfull techtrancer, while the B-side has some electro influences, tho both will do very well on the international dancefloors (as tried & tested by the likes of Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and ofcourse Leon Bolier was the first to play it out himself).
The Navigator got a nice review in DJ Mag:
Leon shifts over to Spinnins customary tech-trance ground, and a great example of the sub-genre it is too. With the lad pulling and out all the stops and throwing in everything but the kitchen sink. Skittering percussion, Hammerite beats and a looped male vocal provide for a breathless ride. The Navigator then drops into analogy synths, jabbing effects and a dirty bass line of the most driving order. Just one mix,and when they come this good, count yerselves lucky for that!
