Leon Bolier - That Morning

Leon Bolier 'That Morning'
More intense and exciting than a low flight over an erupting volcano whilst being attacked by a swarm of Angry Birds, ‘That Morning’ – the new LB floor throw-down - will soon be among us. Already being given some very healthy rotation on Armin’s ASOT show, it will be available to the rest of us before this month is out. Release day is the 22nd of June, when it’ll become available through all good digital download sellers. ‘That Morning’ will be followed on the 31st of August by - drum roll please! - Leon’s new artist album (insider reports on which suggest is “85% complete”!). In the meantime you can check ‘That Morning’ now through the all-playing-eye that is YouTube… Gitsome!

Gig Flashforward: Digital Society Summer Event

Society summer events in England usually consist of silly hats, Pimms overdoses and too much green grass lying all over the place. Not Digital Society’s though! No sir – far from it. There’s will be talking place in the suitably dark, suitably strobe-lit confines of the 02 Academy in Leeds on Friday the 11th of June, where Leon will be sharing deck-space with Simon Patterson, Sean Tyas and Lange. More trance, less cheap jazz bands and Z-list personality appearances are what’s on the menu and if that sounds like your kind of thing you can get tickets direct from the Digital Society website. www.digitalsociety.co.uk

Leon Bolier TV
There is plenty to view this month on the LBTV channel, enough to keep you going for the better part of an evening we should suspect. In Leon’s late spring tour report you can find highlights for any number of great gigs, with lots of backstage messiness on the inside-track video. Also available by simply clicking here is the never-to-be-released 8pm remix of ‘Shimamoto’ , and the same treatment has also been given to 'Ocean Drive Boulevard' here. Who treats you this well?! Really...!
And remember if you get subscribed, then you stay updated.

Eivissa, Eivissa, Baby!
As the nights start to close in and everything gets a bit colder and darker, our thoughts are starting to turn to Christmas and… er, no, hang on - wrong season! We are literally months away from that stuff! It’s all ahead of us; we’ve got it ALL to come – wa-bloody-hay! Fetch us some sangria with a margarita chaser and gargle it down with some sunshine! Leon is back in party-central, nice and early in the summertime proceedings (the the 11th of July to be precise) and will be ready to tear it up at Judgement Sundays… Eden’s the club, San Antonio is the town and Ibiza is the, er, big white thing in the middle of the Med. It’s all you need to know! Oh, that and the Judgement Sundays website link…

N.S.F.A.Q.
In our regular L.B. news-mailer feature we want you to ask Leon a… Not So Frequently Asked Question! The best inquiry will get answered and to the winner, some wonderful LB spoils!

Go outside-the-box, take Leon away from his comfort zone (wherever that might have been). If you posit an interesting poser (ask a good question!), you’re in with a GREAT shout of getting it answered! Send them over to: info@solarize-agency.com

This month it's Kristof Beirens, from Putte in chic Belgique (!) who asks: What was the name of the club where you start DJing?

Leon Sayz: "It was called 'The Redwood', in my hometown. I had to play all the charts hits. It made me understand what is for a crowd to react to music though, which still comes in handy to this day!"

The Streamlined Radio Show

Social networking! Where would music be without it? Back in the 90's, that’s where! A decade where mobile phones were carried for the express purpose of calling people you know while walking down windy streets (before they introduced all that new-fangled texting business in 2000!). Anyway those days are gone... thank the Creator! Now you can stay up-to-the-nanosecond date with all of Leon’s info-lightning-bolts through the marvellous digital vessels below. Leon Bolier - Shimamoto (Aly & Fila Remix)
Dark Star out now / Streamlined the label & the party!
posted @ 28-04-2010

In 2009 there was Streamlined the compilation album, the fortnightly Streamlined Radio show and first Streamlined club events. And now in 2010 Leon Bolier takes the next progression step with his electronic dance baby… and launches Streamlined: The Label.

Soon to become part of the Spinnin’ Records label consortium, Leon’s new imprint will joined the esteemed likes of RESET, Liquid, DOORN & Oxygen in the search to track down, and then release the best electronic dance music out there.

To give Streamlined the very strongest of lift-offs, Leon has a couple of aces tucked up his sleeve. Firstly he has drafted in sometimes sound-partner-in-crime Sied van Riel, and together they’ve produced the label’s debut , the thermostellar floorbomb ‘Dark Star’. A tribute to a 1001 science fiction movies (or maybe that should be 2001!), the track will form the tip of the spear for Streamlined’s label operations. Find the deeplink to Beatport below.

Don’t be fooled into thinking this is just a label for Leon & Friends though. When he announced the first details of the Streamlined label, Leon said: “I’ve had some real breaks in this industry through people taking a leap with my music and giving me a chance. In the same respect I’ve always wanted to give something back. By finding and signing some up-and-coming talent myself, and potentially giving them the same type of break, I feel I’m doing that.”

You can follow Streamlined early-stage progress on Twitter @ twitter.com/streamlinedrecs and Leon will also be feeding regular updates on it thru his page.

Once Leon had decided on Streamlined the label he played his second ace and announced a launch party for it. Streamlined III will take place in Club Poema in Utrecht (scene of so much electronic dance debauchery last Boxing Day) on Friday the 28th of May. It will be something of a poignant one too as it will be the last ever trance night held at the club before the venue closes in early July. Joining master of ceremonies Bolier behind the decks will be EDM heavyweights John O’Callaghan, Cliff Coenraad, Estiva and back-to-back on the decks, Alex MORPH and Woody van Eyden. Tickets for Streamlined III are available now through the Solarize shop priced at a very reasonable EUR 12.50 for Early Bird and EUR 15.00 before the night itself.

So there you have it a brand new, ready-to-kick-speaker-ass label, and a party to celebrate its launch that you won’t want to miss. People: you never had it so good!!

Bolier & The Beatball - 2099
posted @ 23-02-2010

Not, as you might imagine, the pilot episode of a new sitcom set 89 years in the future in which Leon’s stars alongside his greatest technical creation, The Beatball (though you have to ask why this show hasn’t been made yet?) It is in-fact a deliberately attention-grabbing, intrigue-inducing (or possibly just head-scratching) headline to announce his first studio sync-up with Marcus ‘The Swedish Beatball’ Schössow. If you’ve ever sat their in your office chair on an afternoon (ideally whilst browsing Leon’s new-look website) and wondered what the meeting of two such musical minds would sound like, then wonder no more! The resulting soon-to-be floor-bound firebrand is up on his You Tube channel now. Chickaty-check!

The new Artist Album
posted @ 10-02-2010

As touched on above Leon’s all-guns-blazing, not-difficult-in-the-slightest 2nd album will be making its much anticipated appearance this year. Now we’ll make no bones about it, it is very early in the day to be talking about it (it’s not due until August). But if you’re waiting for it with the same type of anticipation as you would a World Cup (or payday) you’ll be delighted to hear that Leon has uploaded a few carefully measured doses of what’s in-store to his YouTube channel. Be so far ahead of the rest that it hurts…and click here to check them!

Leon Bolier - Shimamoto out now!
posted @ 02-02-2010

Shimamoto – the first single to be taken from Leon’s sophomore artist album - is available now (link). Combining majestic melodics with some high-pressure atmospherics, it has found its way into many an A-list spinner’s CD wallet over the last few weeks. As with most every one of LB’s tracks, it comes with a highly-enigmatic, curiosity-inducing title. Initially hesitant to clue us in to it origins, we left Leon to sweat under the lights for a couple of hours. On our return he confessed that ‘Shimamoto’ was a reference to the mysterious main character in Haruki Murakami’s book South Of The Border, West Of The Sun’… Now we know, now we may sleep again!

posted @ 27-01-2010

As you can see, the overall layout of this site has been updated to a nice looking v4.0.
We decided to do this because me and my team encountered some problems keeping the
frontpage up-to-date with whatever needs to be shared with you folks. V4.0 makes sure we
can provide you with embedded youtube videos and everything else we think might interest
you.
